FAQ’s: BOOSTER MEMBERSHIP AND PARKING AT CHS

How much does it cost to park or join the Booster Club at Centennial?

The Umbrella Booster Board this year revamped the membership levels, to make it more flexible and affordable for families, There are now seven purchase plans, as inexpensive as $100 for a Knight booster contribution and $200 for one-semester parking in “Dirt Lot.”  For the first time, it is not mandatory to join the Booster Club to purchase a parking pass in the “Dirt Lot.”

Did the prices go up this year?

No. In most cases, prices have gone down. We have listened to your concerns about the parking and Booster Club structure and have responded accordingly.

What’s the best value?

The most popular Booster Club packages will be the “Roundtable Plus 1” and “Roundtable Plus 2” levels, which offer discounts of $35 and $70, respectively.

This packages include parking for one or two semesters, up to four passes for all regular-season home events, as well as free parking during the football season.

What are the parking options at Centennial?

There are only two designated parking areas for students: The “Booster Lot” (aka: the “Dirt Lot”) and the “Senior Lot.” There is no surface street parking around CHS, and the shopping center lot across the street is for store patrons only. Students parking in the shopping center lot are often towed.

How do I get into the “Dirt Lot” or “Senior Lot.”?

Booster Lot parking is available for purchase on a first-come, first-serve basis. The cost for parking in the Booster Lot is $200 per semester (or $2.22 per day) if the pass is purchased individually, or at a discounted rate if purchased with a Booster Club membership package. “Senior Lot” parking passes are available only to eligible seniors on lottery basis, as outlined in the student agenda.

How big is the “Dirt Lot”?

Approximately 165 spaces.

What if I don’t want to join the Booster Club?

Parking may still be purchased at the full $200 price for non-booster members, but only pending availability. Parking will be sold according to the following priority structure: 1) Legend. 2) Roundtable; 3) Knight. 4) Non-member.

What if my son or daughter park in the Booster Lot without a parking sticker?

The lot is monitored regularly. All illegally parked cars are “booted,”  preventing the car from being driven. The cost for removing the boot is $60, for the first offense, and $250 for removal after the first offense. Boots will be removed at approximately 6 p.m. the day of the infraction.

When/where are parking passes distributed?

You may lock into purchasing a Dirt Lot parking pass and Booster membership for the 2010-2011 academic year now. All information is at CentennialKnights.com. For parking, fill out your form and send it to the linked email address (parking@centennialknights.com). Questions also may be directed at that address. Parking passes also will be sold during orientation and before the first day of school as cars enter the lot, if they are still available.

Who owns the “Dirt Lot”?

Thanks to the generosity of developer Jim Cowart, the lot has been deeded over to CHS and is not part of the Centennial Walk development project. The lot was given to the school to be used for parking and fundraising efforts. The Booster Club pays taxes and all expenses related to the lot.

What if I lost my dirt lot sticker?

Please contact us if you have lost your dirt lot sticker at parking@centennialknights.com.  Lost stickers will be replaced for a fee of $10.00.  If the lost sticker is found, please return to immediately.   If a "lost" sticker is found posted on another vehicle, such vehicle will be booted and fined $200.00 for removal of boot.  Boots will be removed at approximately 6 p.m. the day of the infraction.

Who Cleans the dirt lot?

Since the dirt lot is a fund raiser for all sport clubs of Centennial, each club is required to clean the dirt lot.  Below is the clean up schedule for the 2009-2010 school schedule.
